The beauty of art is that it can be created anywhere, from anything by anyone. Our members create in garages, kitchens, patios and anywhere they can find a space. Come along and see for yourselves. Everyone is welcome.

Marianne Wilson

Studio 13 - Marianne paints in gouache, oils but particularly loves watercolour. She draws inspiration from real life, surrounded by the beautiful flora and fauna abundant in The Gap. Her artwork has been printed – all locally in Brisbane – onto various items such as tea-towels, cushions, tote bags, tablecloths and furniture-covering fabrics. She also enjoys working on specific artwork commissions.

Studio 2 - Robert Whyte has a Graduate Diploma in Professional Art Studies, University of Western Sydney, 1981. He is director of ToadShow Pty Ltd, a creative development company he co-founded in 1986. Rob’s skills encompass writing and editing, graphic and interface design, multimedia, visual art and photography.

Studio 2 - Anne Jones has a Bachelor of Design Studies, University of Queensland, 1977. Career highlights include Station Coordinator 4ZZZ-FM (1982-83), Editor The Cane Toad Times (1983-90), Chair of the Board of Queensland Museum (2002-08). Anne rehabilitates bushland at Walton Bridge Reserve in The Gap and paints watercolours.

Studio 6 - A life-long creative, Kirstie amusingly describes her unique, whimsical style as "Art Nouveau meets 70s retro wallpaper". Her intricate artworks not only tell a story but are filled with symbolic meaning.

Studio 9 - Sally works in many different styles and loves to explore colour and the expressive qualities of media. Her work is often layered with symbolism and intended to elicit an an emotional response in the viewer. A Brisbane based artist Sally likes to explore different styles and the expressive qualities of media and colour. Her works are primarily conceptual, abstract and expressive. She draws on personal experiences and themes that reference relationships, context and metaphor.

Studio 9 - Gill works in wire/steel and wood. Her focus is on 3D and figurative forms utilizing discarded and vintage items.

Studio 9 - Natarscha is an artist, art educator and art therapist. She creates experiences for participants of any age to explore, have fun and express themselves through using different types of mediums, textures and techniques in an encouraging environment. She will be sharing a studio space with Sally and Gill. ​

Studio 10 - At 20 I started to discover that I could draw and painted my first abstracts, then went to Adult evening classes and discovered Oil Painting. I also took up a hobby of painting Miniature figures to recreate famous battle. ​In 2001 I meet a figure sculptor who enabled me to develop my love of sculpture and whimsy.

Studio 5 - Cat has been studying Documentary Photography for the past 4 years at Griffith University and specialises in portraiture, lifestyle, nature, events and festival photography. She has a unique style bringing fun and joy into her creative process. She also makes bespoke jewellery, contour pieces of clothing and up-cycle second garments.

Studio 5 - A trained botanical artist, Lynsay uses skills and experience with mediums gained through this practice to break down traditional forms. Whilst underlying themes of work can be weighty, there is a lightness and ease in the finished pieces that exude hope, joy, love and acceptance.
