My practice focuses on drawing and painting, and I am inspired by my immediate environment.
This ranges from household furnishings such as my quilt + chair, stories that inscribes my memories from time and place, to landscapes of our forest property in The Gap, done in a minimalist style.
I like to have fun with my creations, such as my surrealism, series where elements from famous paintings or drawings are situated in strange and unsettling compositions.
I am about to commence my second year in Creative Arts at the University of Southern Queensland.
We asked Lisa:
"Describe a real-life situation that inspired you?"
One of my old quilts which was hanging on a chair. It happened to be the chair in which most of the quilt was constructed. This lead to my quilt/chair series, three of which are on instagram.
