James Baird
James Baird is a prolific creative who has expressed himself in many media - cooking, gardening, woodworking, blacksmithing and clay to name a few.
Taking up watercolour about 10 years ago, James has been inspired by the Australian landscape from beaches to outback mountains ranges and the wild coastline of Tasmania.
He is particularly inspired by the great Indigenous watercolourist from Hermannsburg, Albert Namatjira, and the anciet landscape of Central Australia.
In 2021 James spent three weeks in Alice Springs, sleeping in a swag by a campfire at night and painting by day. That trip inspired many artworks.
