Gill Duncan

I work in wire/steel and wood. My focus is on 3D forms. My focus is figurative but I also utilize discarded and vintage items. Currently, I am working on Peg Mandala’s which are challenging to plan and execute.

When I am not creating in my studio, I am teaching Art in Kindergarten’s.

We asked Gill:
"What has inspired your art practice?"

Gill observed, "Growing up I was encouraged to use all the tools and equipment in my Father’s shed. This has led me to explore as an adult varied ideas and ways of practicing my art. I often source the materials and then use them in a sympathetic way to represent the objects. I enjoy primarily working with wire which can be a very difficult medium, although this difficulty working with the material becomes very much a part of the artwork."
